Top Ten Tuesday (#8)

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where they post a new top ten list every week and ask bloggers to share their picks as well.

As you may (or may not) have noticed, I didn't participate in Top Ten Tuesday last month. Since the school year is starting, I won't be having as much time for memes, so while I still will be posting some Top Ten Tuesday Posts, they may not be every week.

Today's Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on Your Fall TBR List
pic name pic name pic name
1. Days of Blood and Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #2) by Laini Taylor
Do I even need to explain why I want this so badly? I mean...Laini Taylor! Karou! Akiva! *fangirls*
2. Iced (Fever World, #1) by Karen Marie Moning
I think I would do anything to read this before its publication date. Seriously, I loved the Fever Series and I am thrilled about this spin-off series as well. Plus, if it has Dani and Ryodan, we should get a glimpse of Barrons...riiight? ;)
3. Sanctum by Sarah Fine
I've heard nothing but amazing things about this one and I really want to read it! It sounds phenomenal, so I am so excited for its release! :D
4. Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson
I love Norse Mythology and have been hearing some excellent things about this book so far, so I can't wait for it to release! It sounds absolutely amazing! :)
5. The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
I've only read one Stiefvater novel, but I loved it so much that I simply cannot wait for this book to release! I've heard many amazing things about it, so I really am looking forward to immersing myself into Maggie's writing once again! :)
My experience with Melissa Marr has been unfortunate in the past. I loved Wicked Lovely, but before I could continue with the series, the ending was spoiled for me and I didn't feel the urge to continue. Perhaps I will sometime later, but for now I am simply thrilled about Marr's new series which sounds so innovative and unique! I can't wait to see what it's about! :)
I'm not a huge contemporary fan, but how can you resist that cover? I love the sound of this one, so I'm really excited for its release and hope that I can snag a copy of it in the US, despite the fact that it's an Aussie Novel!

love Sarah Rees Brennan! Not only does she write the most phenomenal novels, but her blog/author website is amazingly hilarious and she seems like such a down-to-earth person, so with a new Gothic Novel coming up, how could I not read it? ;)
9. Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns, #2) by Rae Carson
I loved Girl of Fire and Thorns and I can't wait to see what Carson has planned next! She's already proved to be a great fantasy writer, so I'm very excited to see what happens in this one! :)
Just like Sarah Rees Brennan, I love Libba Bray! She's a phenomenal author and after her Gemma Doyle Trilogy, I have been dying for another wonderful series from her and it looks like this is it! :D

What are some of your most anticipated novels this fall? Let me know in the comments or link me up! :)

  1. I am a little bit sad that I haven't checked out Daughter of Smoke & Bone yet. It's been sitting on my TBR list for months now, but I always seem to forget about it.

Unspoken and The Diviners made my list as well! I have read a lot of positive reviews on Brennan's book in particular, so I'm looking forward to reading it.

  2. I'm looking forward to Meant to Be!

Also, I just wanted to let you know that I've been having trouble commenting on your posts, when I go to comment I can't click in this comment box and I have to refresh about a dozen times and sometimes eventually I finally get to type in here! Just wanted you to know because I don't want you to think I'm neglecting your wonderful blog :D xox

  3. Some great books on your list Keertana! I hope we get to see a glimpse of Barrons too, my assumptions that I had of Dani changed quite a lot towards the end of the series, so I'm hoping she won't bug me as much :/ I also can't wait of Days of Blood and Starlight and Meant to Be I'll be stalking my postman even more by November time! (Not that I don't already!) I've also heard great things about The Raven Boys and Carnival of Souls!

  4. DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT. *clutches heart* I swear, every time I see a status update for that book, I want to stab my screen with a pen haha. No words to describe how much I NEED that book!!

I am effing desperate for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE BOOKS you have mentioned! Well, bar two. The Crown of Embers and Iced, but ONLY because I haven't read their previous books. I was a bit iffy with GOFAT because I read many varied opinions, but sometimes you just need to say 'screw it' to other reviews and give it a go yourself. Which is what I'm going to do :)

MAGGIE STIEFVATER. 'NUFF SAID. Annnd! Libba Bray! I LOVED Going Bovine and Beauty Queens <3 I still need to finish that monster of a third book in the Gemma Doyle trilogy *needs more time in the day* So, so excited for The Diviners.

I'm anticipating LOTS of books this "Fall" (Spring for me!), but the one on my mind tonight has been The Casual Vacancy. A cover I screw my face up at, a plot I don't ordinarily read, but an author who is my idol. I've no doubt in my mind I will LOVE it.

  5. This list is fantastic!!

Days of Blood & Starlight is my most anticipated book this fall, along with Rootless by Chris Howard. But seriously, there are a ton of great ones coming out. I had a hard time only picking ten...

  6. I want some of these sooo bad! Days of Blood and Starlight is one of my 4 pre-orders (along with the Diviners!) so far this year. I cannot wait to see what Laini Taylor has in store for Karou now. Same for the Raven Boys - I've seen positive and negative reviews but the concept sounds so good, and she's such a strong writer.

Carnival of Souls looks good - but I am not the biggest fan of the Wicked Lovely series, so I will probably wait for that to come out in paperback before I give it a try.

Meant to Be's cover is so cute - I love it and I'm pretty excited to start my ARC soon. Same for Unspoken!

Nice list, Keertana, and I hope school doesn't take up too much book time! ;)

  7. Your list looks almost exactly like mine Keertana! I can't wait for all of those, but Days of Blood and Starlight is at the very top for me, I'm beyond excited for that one. Also Iced. I'm a huge KMM fan, and I can't wait to see what she's going to do with Dani and the continuation of Mac and Barrons's world! Please let Barrons make an appearance in that book. PLEASE.

  8. I can't wait to read Meant to Be. I keep seeing it on today's lists, and it is making me even more excited. I hope my expectations are too high, though.

I'm also pretty excited about Valkyrie Rising myself.

  9. Wow. Meant to Be does sound great! I have several of these on my list as well. I actually haven't yet read Girl of Fire and Thorns, but keep hearing great things about it. I hope to get to that and Crown of Embers soon too.

  10. Great choices! I am looking forward to The Raven Boys too, as I haven't read any of the author's books before. The Diviners looks great, I'm intrigued about that one. I hope you read and enjoy them soon! :)

  12. Valkyrie Rising and Unspoken both look SO GREAT! I did not add them to my TTT, but regardless I will be reading them this fall.

ALSO! The Diviners, that book is utterly fantastic and worth all of it's length and the time it takes to read. I think I liked it even better than A Great And Terrible Beauty.

  13. That is a lovely TBR pile you have there! I have yet to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone... :( I need to find out what Norse mythology is, because I want to read Valkyrie Rising! Ahh, happy reading!

  14. I'm so excited about Day of Blood and Starlight! I wasn't really a fan of Meant to Be but LOVE the cover. It's not an Aussie novel btw, it's being pubbed by Random House. :)

  15. Oh man, Days of Blood and Starlight! <3 I can't WAIT for that one! You picked so many great books, Keertana! I have to recommend The Raven Boys and The Diviners--they are AMAZING. Valkyrie Rising is on my list, too! I hope it's as good as it sounds! :)

  16. Ohhh I so want to get my hands on a copy of The Diviners! I have an author crush on Libba Bray because I LOVED her Gemma Doyle series, so I'm really intrigued with what she has in store for us in The Diviners. The reviews have so far been great!

Unspoken and Days of Blood and Starlight are on my wishlist too; can't wait to read both! My past experiences with Melissa Marr didn't end well, still, the blurb is interesting... If you read it and give it a positive review, I might check it out. :)

Awesome list, Keertana! You featured many books I'm looking forward too. I anticipate your opinions of them all!

  17. EEEEEEEEEEEE KEERTANA! SQUEEEEEEE, I am SO SO EXCITED FOR THOSE BOOKS ON YOUR LIST!

    1. Days of Blood and Starlight
OH GOSH, I NEED THIS BOOK SO BADLY. After that ending in Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I think I went a little mad :P I NEED to know what is going to happen with Akiva and Karou in this book!

    2. Iced
While I've only read the first 2 books in the Fever series, I quite enjoyed it so I definitely have to look out for this book ;)

    3. Sanctum
I haven't heard much about this book but ME INTRIGUED!

    4. Valkyrie Rising
I've only heard of the book quite recently but it sounds really interesting and the cover looks awesome!

    5. The Raven Boys
OH YES, I AM SO SO SO EXCITED FOR THIS! I love Maggie Stiefvater and her books so I definitely am going to be reading this book!

    6. Carnival of Souls
Read this quite recently and really enjoyed it! The world is interesting and quite unique so I can't wait for the sequel too!

    7. Meant to Be
THAT COVER! LOVE! Really liking the sound of it so I'll be sure to look out for a copy ;)

    8. Unspoken
While I've only read Sarah Rees Brennan's collaboration with Justin Larbalestier 'Team Human', I'm definitely intrigued with the book!

    9. Crown of Embers
AAAAA, I want to read Girl of Fire and Thorns! I heard amazing things about it so I hope I can read it soon before the sequel comes out!

    10. The Diviners
I have yet to read Libba Bray (WHICH I REALLY NEED TO FIX ASAP!) but I am so interested in reading The Diviners! The summary sounds completely amazing!

Oops, sorry for the long comment, Keertana! :P Awesome list and I really can't wait for your opinions on each book too! ♥

  18. Yes for Days of Blood and Starlight and The Crown of Embers - two sequels I'm also anticipating (and the entire rest of the blogging community haha). I'm also excited for Carnival of Souls because I want to read something by Melissa Marr but reading her whole Wicked Lovely series sounds kind of daunting. Great list - I think I'd be interested in reading most of them as well!

  19. I'm seriously excited for basically all of those books Keertana! I must admit, I haven't really heard of your first 3 books, but those are definitely going on my TBR now. I've actually gotten to read Valkyrie Rising, and while it was good, I didn't love it, because it barely focused on the mythology, which was a bit disappointing. Carnival of Souls looks really amazing, as does Meant to Be! I actually have that one from NetGalley [it might still be up there- you should totally check!].

You have an awesome list Keertana!! SO many awesome books coming out this fall!

  20. The Raven Boys is being eagerly anticipated on quite a few Top Tens this week.

  21. Days of Blood & Starlight is a MUST for me. I actually spent the whole night yesterday skimming through the first book to refresh my memory (and paid the price today in my zombie-like state!). I definitely can't wait to read it. I'm hoping Carnival of Souls lives up to your expectations. I had the chance to read it recently and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. And yes, The Raven Boys is AMAZINGGG! :D I hope you'll agree!

  22. Days of Blood and Starlight! DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT! :D Actually, my top ten for fall would practically mirror yours. =) Meant to Be and Unspoken are soooo awesome...I've already pre-ordered my finished copies so I can read them again and again! :D And I'm reading The Diviners right now...LOVING IT! Can't wait for you to read all these and see what you think of them! GREAT LIST!!!! I'm so excited for all of the great books out this fall!
