Top Five Books of 2015

pic namepic namepic name
1. The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler (Review HERE, Guest Post HERE)
2. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (Review HERE)
3. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh (Review HERE)
4. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (Review HERE)
5. Uprooted by Naomi Novik (Review HERE)

I usually struggle to pick five or ten but this year, I had nine favorite novels and it was a no-brainer that these would be my top five. I guess I get pickier and pickier every year but I recommend these whole-heartedly so if you haven't read them, get your hands on them NOW. What are your favorite books of the year? What should I have on this list that I don't? Let me know in the comments below--I'm always looking out for new recommendations!

  3. I haven't read any of these books yet, but I own a few of them. The Wrath and the Dawn was one of my best friends' favorite novel in a while and I'm really looking forward to. My favorite novels of the year were the Outlander series, ACoTaR, Game of Thrones, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, The 5th Wave, and Beauty Queens (to name a few). I actually had 22 favorites this year that ranked above a 4.25 star rating and I was really surprised, but pleased with that. Hope your 2016 reading brings you more favorites than just nine!

  4. I’m currently reading Uprooted, I’m only 10 % in, and I love it so far. I plan to read Six of Crows soon, all of my friends loved it; I just can’t stay away anymore. The Wrath and the Dawn and The Summer of Chasing Mermaids are also on my tbr-list. I don’t think I have recs for you, many of my favorites of 2015 are backlist books, and you’ve already read them. What are the other books of your nine favorite novels?

  5. Yea, I wasn't hardly picky at all until I started blogging. I guess having SO many books to review makes you tend to pick better books (although recently I've been listening to one that isn't so good and keep going... LOL). These are all books listed that I have on my must read list! Great list!

  6. I really want to read Six of Crows, but I'd like to start after I read The Grisha series. My husband and daughter LOVED the series. I'm one of the odd balls that wasn't wowed by Uprooted. I actually finished it last week. Oh well.

  7. Yes! Carry On. Love, love. I've been having quite a rough time with The Wrath and I felt so-so with The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. But hey, we've got Carry On in common. Lol.

Looking forward to reading more of your brilliant book reviews this year, Keertana!

  8. Six of Crows is definitely on my list of favorites for 2015 too Keertana! And I have Uprooted on my list for this year, I havn't read a single bad review for it yet and I can't wait to give it a try:) I meant to get to Carry On but got distracted by other things, so I'm adding it to my list for this year too. SO MANY GOOD BOOKS TO READ!

  9. I absolutely ended up loving Six of Crows too Keertana, it was such a complex read, but I ended up devouring it! I've had The Wrath and the Dawn or the longest time, and now that I know it's a top read for you, I shall certainly be getting to it sooner! I hope 2016 is a great reading year for you :)

  10. Six of Crows and The Wrath & the Dawn were definitely two of my favorite books of 2015 too Keertana. :) So glad to hear you loved them too! Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous choices! ♥

  11. I also had the Wrath and the Dawn as one of my fave reads. Except (because I haven't promoted many books on my blog for ages) I highlighted a top 20 ~ I loved them all, but some a smidgen more than others :)

So very sadly, I read Uprooted Six of Crows and the Summer of Chasing Mermaids and am feeling really left out not to have loved them (it seems they are on so many top lists of all my trusted friends). I hate when that happens, hard to now if I just read them at the wrong time or if it was just never meant to be?

If you like thriller kind of books, but more mystery, I think you might like The Blue by Lucy Clarke. It was fun and addictive and a bit swoony, too. I think you would love it, actually x

Unfortunately, this is now an award-free blog. I simply do not have the time to respond and forward on the award, but I truly appreciate the nomination regardless.
