Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicki at Books, Biscuits and Tea. Its aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.
For Review:
The Fire Horse Girl by Kay Honeyman
I was lucky enough to get this on NetGalley despite the fact that it already released last month and I loved it! It was original, well-written, and has one of the most unforgettable heroines ever! :)

You may know this novel by its Australian name, Cinnamon Rain, but it is being published in America under the title Out of This Place. I've been wanting to read this for ages and am so excited that it's being published in the US since I finally have an opportunity to check out what the hype surrounding this novel is all about!
Bought:
I don't remember pre-ordering this, but I must have since it arrived at my doorstep on January 22nd. Unfortunately, the novella preceding this, Neverfall, dampened by previous excitement to pick this up and I still have to read it, but I've heard great things, which is reassuring.
Borrowed:
Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers
This is Not a Test was my first Courtney Summers novel and I resolved to pick up all of her books after I devoured that in a sitting. Needless to say, I loved this. I have Some Girls Are on my shelf too, so I plan to read that soon as well. I am tempted not to return this to my library - it really is just that good.

I've read the entire GG Series so far by Ally Carter and love her HS books even more, so when this released, I had to get my hands on it. It's the best of the HS books so far and I just LOVED it!
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Unlike the rest of the world, I wasn't a fan of Cinder. I know, it's strange and blasphemous, but I felt the novel lacked world-building and that the plot was stifled by the structure of the fairy tale it modeled. But, being the werewolf fanatic that I am, I couldn't resist picking this up when I saw it on the shelves. I planned to read the novella preceding this first to see if I'd like the book, but I jumped straight into this and wound up loving it! I should be posting my review up tomorrow! :)

Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger
I loved Soulless, the first novel in Carriger's Parasol Protectorate Series, but never finished the books since I thought the first novel was the perfect stand-alone. When I heard she was writing a YA Series, though, set in the same fantastic world, I was thrilled. I've heard mostly good things about this, but some not-so-good as well, so we'll see if I wind up reading this finally or not.

Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
Sepetys's debut took me forever to pick up, but I'm glad I did. I truly adored it and I cannot wait to read her sophomore novel releasing this week, Out of the Easy.

Shadows on the Moon by Zoe Mariott
I've been in the mood for fairy tale re-tellings, along with Asian-infused settings, so this seemed perfect. I've heard fantastic things about the story and am itching to find the time to tear into it.

The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
I've heard endless praise for this novel and thanks to my piqued curiosity because of the release of The Archived, I decided to check this out of the library. I can't wait to see what it's like.

Schwab's sophomore novel has gotten so much hype and publicity lately that I really just want to rip it open and read. I love the idea of it and that cover is utterly mesmerizing.
I thought Flutter was just another one of those lame novels with a girl as the cover, but after reading Maja's review at The Nocturnal Library, I couldn't help but add it to my shelves at once. It sounds fantastic and Maja is one of my most trusted reviewers. Usually when she recommends a book, I know I can expect an unparalleled degree of quality and I love that. I cannot wait to read this now.
I've had this book on my wishlist for awhile and was so excited to finally recieve it from the library. I've heard amazing things about it and turns out there's a movie too, so I'll have to check that out once I've read the book.
I heard of this book from Mandee at Vegan YA Nerds and it sounded like such a cute, fun, and romantic read that I couldn't pass it up. It's winter now in the US and we're getting a blizzard this weekend, so I'll probably hold this off until spring, but knowing me, I'll give in before then I suspect.
Sempre is one of those obscure novels I've never heard of but have had recommended to me quite a lot, so when my friend offered to let me borrow it, I figured I might as well give it a try sooner than later. Not sure what to expect from this, but very curious.
