But not really, I'm a Wyoming girl, I'll fall for anything that takes place near home, and yes, after Fallen this was downright amazing. I feel like I've read so much YA since first reading this, that if I read it for the first time now I might feel as you do, but I managed to get to it before that happened. Lovely review Keertana!Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00416898799044848769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-37516262542792577772012-08-05T14:44:08.389-04:002012-08-05T14:44:08.389-04:00Thanks Jennifer! I love that phrase - I can't understand how anyone could give a flying fish about Christian either! ;) Gosh, if he dies a painful death in the second book I would actually pick it up, but the threat of a love triangle is making me want to run away screaming from it, so I doubt I'll read it. Still, I'm glad you're Team Tucker! :DKeertanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071392026876644282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-74072085992050956332012-08-05T14:28:43.293-04:002012-08-05T14:28:43.293-04:00Yay! I've also been told that I probably won't like the sequel, so I think I'll be avoiding it, but I'm glad to see you're Team Tucker! ;)Keertanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071392026876644282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-70994433197372481042012-08-05T14:15:30.269-04:002012-08-05T14:15:30.269-04:00Thanks Brodie!(: Angelfall is SO good! If you liked Rafa from Shadows, you'll love Raffe from Angelfall! ;)

I definitely don't think I'll be continuing with this series though. I mean, what could ever make you switch to Team Christian? Poor Tucker! I'm keeping my fingers crossed though that Clara winds up with Tucker at the end! ;)Keertanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071392026876644282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-77310287625136112592012-08-04T22:11:38.097-04:002012-08-04T22:11:38.097-04:00Aww, I'm so sorry that you didn't like thi...Aww, I'm so sorry that you didn't like this one Keertana!! I, for one, enjoyed it, but I definitely can see how you wouldn't like it. The thing with Christian can definitely be a turn off, although I didn't mind him too much. And I do agree about the perfection thing! Almost everyone was so perfect. However, that didn't bother me too much because I feel like Clara did have a few inner faults.

I'm sorry you didn't love this one Keertana!! But definitely kudos to you for writing your review. You shouldn't be ashamed or scared to have an opinion that's different from others. ;)Aneeqahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13352395407424623520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-72495673769527523732012-08-04T20:18:56.519-04:002012-08-04T20:18:56.519-04:00Although I did enjoy this overall (and just slight...Although I did enjoy this overall (and just slightly more than yourself), it failed to blow me away. I have to agree with a lot of your points! I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't give a flying fish about Christian. The whole purpose thing never really felt too significant to me either. I didn't (and still don't) care a great deal if he dies a painful death. I do think the second book is better though, or maybe that's just Tucker influencing my opinion. ;) Anyway this is a lovely, honest review!Sam (Realm of Fiction)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04440380021875536125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-76469510008960509432012-08-04T16:08:45.420-04:002012-08-04T16:08:45.420-04:00Ohh, I guess it's me and you against the world...Ohh, I guess it's me and you against the world, lovely! I also enjoyed this book, but only moderately, and like you, I thought huge parts of it were downright boring. I've actually owned the second book ever since it came out, but never felt the slightest desire to pick it up.
The fact that the love triangle gets even stronger in the next book was definitely the deciding factor.
Anyway, I love how detailed and honest your review is.Maja (The Nocturnal Library)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14276646316400863181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-40369003249838716052012-08-04T15:58:26.855-04:002012-08-04T15:58:26.855-04:00Oh, I'm sorry you didn't like this book D:...Oh, I'm sorry you didn't like this book D: I agree with everything you said in your review, Keertana, even though I loved Unearthly. However... well. I don't know if you'll enjoy the next book in the series. I felt like it had less action, and more romance (and character development). I do hope you enjoy it better than Unearthly, though! ^-^Beatriz Linshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16235932444046483881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-10453091079933314032012-08-04T11:18:13.930-04:002012-08-04T11:18:13.930-04:00Aww that sucks that you didn't end up liking U...Aww that sucks that you didn't end up liking Unearthly Keertana as much as the rest of us did, but don't worry I won't be chucking any boulders or rocks your way as you still liked Tucker ;) And I totally get why this book fell flat for you, if I read this after Daughter of Smoke and Bone I don't think I would have liked it as much either, nothing can compare to that book and I know it took me ages afterwards to find a decent book which would compare to it! It's a shame that you've decided not to pick up the next book, as things do get a lot interesting, but at least you can say you tried, lovely review :)Jasprithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11346050783201302967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-8714876992278220532012-08-04T11:07:06.818-04:002012-08-04T11:07:06.818-04:00I could not help but nod my head in understanding ...I could not help but nod my head in understanding when you mentioned reading this after the likes of Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Angelfall (Angelfall, I haven't read, but I WANT to and the praise is insanely good). DOSAB was one of my all-time favourite reads so... yeah, while I really liked Unearthly, it's not on the same level of DOSAB.

As I said, I enjoyed this, but I CAN understand your issues! If I'm honest though, I don't *think* you would enjoy the sequel... in terms of plot, I was disappointed that there wasn't really... much progression in the way I hoped. It's more of a quiet read with emotional growth, I think. And it made me switch from Team Tucker to Team Christian, who you clearly dislike haha.

Sorry this didn't live up to the hype for you! Regardless, fantastic review!Brodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16389909407256668662noreply@blogger.com
