It was about a married couple going through hard times and finding their way back to each other, as well. I really enjoyed it and I wonder if I would like this one, too. I'm not sure I'd care for the open ending, but marriage is always a work in progress and I would have hope they would keep growing and healing together. Beautiful review, Keertana! :)Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16682335183798720529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-76691755519713790082013-08-30T17:09:25.593-04:002013-08-30T17:09:25.593-04:00If there is anything I like about books like this ...If there is anything I like about books like this its the emotional aspect. I love my emotional reads and I just now I am going to enjoy this even if it is a novella! Kai and Kurt sound like wonderful characters and I can't wait to meet them and see how their relationship develops. And of course the hot parts will just be an added bonus! lol ;p I can't wait to read this! Plus, I LOVE that cover! Glad you enjoyed this Keertana! I'm usually not keen on reading novellas (or reading about married couples, for some strange reason) but I love the sound of this despite that and hope I can give it a try one day. I haven't heard of this story before nor have ever read a book about woman who had miscarriages and I know what can it do to a person (my aunt had two and I know how much she suffered). Anyhow it sounds like an amazing read. I generally avoid novellas like the plague because I never feel satisfied when the book ends, but it sounds as though this might break those rules for me, huh? I really think I need to read something by Florand...soon! Lovely review, Keertana! :)Melissa (i swim for oceans)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06840790603713851746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-69696795960334642582013-08-28T17:48:23.909-04:002013-08-28T17:48:23.909-04:00Heartbreak and steamy sex are a faaaaabulous combi...Heartbreak and steamy sex are a faaaaabulous combination. :D I have yet to read Laura Florand, but I know you and Chachic are huge fans! I keep meaning to start them sometime, but this one sounds so awesome, I might try this first. Especially since it doesn't mean a 3 book commitment. Thanks for the nudge, Keeertana! I've been reading more adult books recently and this one sounds like a good one to try out, too.

Wendy @ The Midnight GardenWendy Darlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13471461156849725177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-30650840893109164802013-08-28T16:37:12.661-04:002013-08-28T16:37:12.661-04:00Sounds beautiful, but heartbreaking. Oh I hate to ...Sounds beautiful, but heartbreaking. Oh I hate to cry, but you say it is worth it and I believe you. I will have to add this one, but will make sure my box of tissues is full first. :)Melissa (Books and Things)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00074452958853212024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-23392351874011519202013-08-28T13:19:40.890-04:002013-08-28T13:19:40.890-04:00Okay if my choices were melting chocolate in Paris...Okay if my choices were melting chocolate in Paris or heartbreak snowed in. I'd pick the former. BUT I think this book sounds so true and relevant to life, and I love that the author tackled such an intense and heart breaking subject. I think I'll start with the former subject, but I may move onto this depending on how I like those. BUT with your high praise, I'm sure I'll want more like you do.

I am a little wary that these characters' story ends in such a melancholy place, however, Though I imagine that a brokenness like this takes a lot of effort to heal. Will she be revisiting this couple, or is this novella complete?

This is sort of relevant, but have you read Jhumpa Lahiri's book of short stories THE INTERPRETER OF MALADIES? It is an amazing collection, but I remember she has a short story in there about a couple that falls a part after a miscarriage. I don't remember all of the stories in the book, but that one still impacts me, though I read it ages ago.
