I really like the way you describe these people as being regular and not heroes, and the story as having beautiful prose. Hm... I shy away from these kind of books, but I don't know why. I usually end up enjoying myself. This does sound like a good contemp. I do think you just added it to my wishlist. :)Melissa (Books and Things)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00074452958853212024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-37106375641601848402013-11-25T10:02:53.979-05:002013-11-25T10:02:53.979-05:00I was literally just looking at this book on Goodr...I was literally just looking at this book on Goodreads and Amazon (and wishing it was a bit cheaper...) because I read THIS TTT post: (http://dailydahlia.wordpress.com/2013/11/19/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-books-id-recommend-to-people-looking-for-good-na/)

I included the link because I think you would appreciate it, K because I feel the same way as you about the over the top NA plot lines as well as the bad boy w/ back history hooking up with the good girl with even more past history trope that has overrun that genre thus far (which is what that TTT post addresses.)

But I am excited to hear that this book--which seems to be a hit with nearly everyone-- was also one with you! I'm thinking this might be a bit heavy of a read for me at this time of year (the holidays have me wanting to read cute, light romances, I can't help it!), but I'm keeping this on my list for when I'm in a mood for dark and emotional:)Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14199685365145765394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-62272402276559165932013-11-25T08:20:10.449-05:002013-11-25T08:20:10.449-05:00I've been reluctant about picking up this book...I've been reluctant about picking up this book, but now I see that i missed something really good.
Great review, girl!

Glass @ Way Too Hot Books Glasshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03750441600543024341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-13501582804300897692013-11-25T07:48:38.970-05:002013-11-25T07:48:38.970-05:00This sounds exceptional, Keertana, and that's ...This sounds exceptional, Keertana, and that's coming from someone who avoids NA like the plague. What I like is that it genuinely does seem real just from hearing about Leah's struggles and the real characters. What also draws me in is that it takes place in Ontario, which is really hard to find in books.:p

-P.E. @ The Sirenic CodexAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17045558423044874125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3523300192245025551.post-82924865792274773232013-11-24T17:43:20.439-05:002013-11-24T17:43:20.439-05:00I like the sound of this diverse cast, and more im...I like the sound of this diverse cast, and more importantly, that it isn't presented as anything that isn't simply natural. Often, I'll find these things are incorporated as a side thought, or just for inclusion's sake. I also really like the sound of Leah taking charge of her own growth. This sounds wonderful! I haven't ever come across it before, so thanks for putting it on my radar. Lovely review, Keertana. :)

P.S.
